Hi Admin, appreciate very much what you do with this site

Wanted to let you know that the last 3 games uploaded for Wigan Warriors have all had serious playback issues.

This week's game against Leeds Rhinos has an initial 1 minute of footage deleted at around 08:50 in the video clock (the on-screen game clock skips from 3:59 to 4:59, missing the 1st Warriors try). I appreciate that glitches on live feeds happen, and can't be avoided, but if this is a streamed program, maybe it can be downloaded again?. At 12:38 in the video (8:28 on the on-screen game clock), the whole video gets corrupted, and is unwatchable from that point. I have tried 3 different video players (mythtv, mplayer and vlc), and none of them can play anything properly from that point on. Tried remuxing it with Handbrake, but it is also unable to deal with the corruption at that point.

The previous game vs St Helens (18.08.2024t) there is a big audio sync issue. At 12:28 in the video time (11:40 on the on-screen game clock), there's a brief glitch in playback, and from that point on there's a big audio sync issue, which seems to get worse and worse. It's only a few seconds behind initially, but gets a lot worse. By 16:30 in the video, it's already about 20 seconds behind. By 58 minutes into the video, it's now more than 5 minutes behind, and unwatchable.

The game before that, against Catalans Dragons (31.08.2024), the same thing happens at 42:40 into the video. Again there's a brief glitch in playback, and then the audio starts to lag further and further behind the video.

I wouldn't expect that these kinds of sync issues are likely to be present in the actual video feed from the broadcaster, so I have to assume that there's some kind of problem in the editing phase? I would really appreciate it if you would be able to look at these, and ideally fix the issue and re-upload, or at least identify what may be occurring and avoid it in future uploads.

As I said earlier, I really appreciate what you do here, please don't take this as a criticism of your work, just highlighting an issue that I hope you can fix going forward.

I'm sorry to hear that Admin. Like I said, this isn't a complaint, but hopefully a positive, constructive message. Not sure why you are simply removing them, as that's so sad. There are lots of us who benefit from your uploads. Personally, I have donated to your NFL membership in the past, and was about to do so for this season again.

Can I ask why you have taken this step? Your site, your rules, of course, but my message was simply seeking to improve the quality of content. I tried to emphasise in my message that this was the case. I understand that language differences can get in the way of good communication, so if my message was not received with the sentiments it was sent, I can only apologise.

Please reconsider the blanket removal of UK Superleague broadcasts, as loads of members appreciate the uploads, and we would really miss them if they were to cease.

What's the point of making games from the current source if they come out broken?
You write that the last 3 games were broken. So this source does not give the games correctly. I don't have another one, so there is no point in publishing broken games further, I think so.

Most of the games *don't* come out broken, that's what I'm earnestly trying to say. I was simply highlighting an issue that you may not have been aware of. I don't know the source of the problem, whether it's the source you use, or the post-processing that you do, for example to remove advert breaks, intro and outro material etc.

I really would be sad if you simply removed superleague shows over this, as I, and many others, really do appreciate your efforts, and have done for many years. I would rather accept an unavoidable occasional broken upload rather than lose a valuable source of games which are usually of good quality. I really do appreciate your work, and I hope you reconsider this situation.

Again, I would repeat that I tried to make it very clear in my initial comment, that I was trying to alert you to an issue you may not have been aware of, rather than an aggressive criticism of your very much appreciated hard work. Apologies if this didn't come across for whatever reason. I really would urge you to consider continuing to upload superleague games.

I would much rather games with glitches than no games at all. Super League games are among the games I most frequently download here.

Looks like I was misunderstood too
I meant that because the source changed (all games went to Sky Sport+) I try other sources, which are currently unsuccessful. Therefore there will be no more games of this League because of this. And not because you pointed out the problem.
I keep trying to record them, but I don't want to publish them if there is a huge problem with the game.

Imo a minute's gap is not a huge problem with a game. It's a very minor inconvenience. And in no way comparable with missing the game entirely. Would far rather 79 minutes of a game than 0.

I hope this game is ok

Good to see that the primary game for Thursday night got uploaded, as I'm a Wigan fan who no longer lives in the UK and thus has no access to Sky Sports etc., which is why this site is so important to me, and why I was so upset that I was unlucky that recent games on here for Wigan were broken, and seemingly all other games are ok! (<joke>)

Incidentally, Admin may be interested to note that there's a youtube uploader called Rugby Tor who's uploading your games to youtube
